The Sazuke, or the Divine Grant, is the primary means of helping others. The Sazuke, along with the Service are the two means of single-hearted salvation. When one bestows the Sazuke to a person, both personsĀ are praying to God to help the person in need of aid to be cured from an illness.
One of the most vital conditions of the Sazuke is that the person bestowing the Sazuke must have a true mind of saving the other person. Without a mind of sincerity, God will not be able to accept the invocation of saving someone. In the Osashizu, or Diving Directions, Oyasama writes:
Sah, sah, what saves others is the truth of the mind of sincerity. Sah, sah, through your mind of sincerity toward others you yourself will be saved. All of you, settleĀ this truth in your minds. Then you will be saved.
Osashizu, August 9, 1888
By single-heartedly striving to save another person, not only does the person receive salvation, but the bestower of the Sazuke also is saved. This form of mutual salvation is an essential factor in attaining the Joyous Life, where everyone lives with a mind of saving others and a mind of gratitude towards God the Parent and Oyasama.
