hinokishin 2 Hinokishin is another form of repayment for God the Parent’s daily blessings that we receive. Hinokishin, when translated literally, means daily contributions. Hinokishin is any action which aims to give something back to God. It is a proactive and selfless act where we can show our gratitude not only to God the Parent, but to our environment and surroundings which God has also provided us. Hinokishin is an active form of faith of a Tenrikyo follower, where we express our awareness of the presence of God and God’s constant providence.

In the Mikagura-uta, The Songs for the Service, there is a verse which teaches:

Husgand and wife working together in hinokishin;

This is the first seed of everything.
