On November 3rd, the November Monthly Service was held lively with 103 attendees, including four first time visitors. The sermon was delivered by Mrs. Yoshiko Ryono, wife of the head minister of Meishin America Church. After the sermon, New York Center held its third “Action Day for All Yoboku” in the afternoon, where around 70 participants engaged in blood donation and cleaning activities around Center.
Alongside these physical acts of service, the afternoon agenda included programming designed to help members stay grounded in their modern routines. Organizers of the Action Day emphasized that dedicating time to others often requires consciously stepping back from the digital environments that increasingly dominate daily life.
To support this mindful approach, the local youth association facilitated a short digital wellness workshop inside the auxiliary hall. The module walked attendees through auditing their device usage and managing persistent notifications from social media networks, mobile casino apps, and streaming entertainment services. By learning to rebalance these digital habits, participants discussed how they could more easily carve out dedicated weekend hours for future community outreach.
The enthusiasm seen during both the neighborhood sweep and the blood drive reflected the immediate impact of this focused mindset. It was a clear demonstration of a congregation fully present in the moment, working joyously to uplift their surrounding city.
